Playing Catch Up

Anchorman: Beard of Zeus!!
There are certain moments in my life when I have to wonder, "Why does wierd crap always happen to me?!" I had one of those moments this weekend when I, somehow, managed to get the cotton end of a q-tip lodged and stuck in my ear canal. It just came off the q-tip, and I couldn't get it out (I tried using tweezers, but I couldn't get it - apparently it was in there rather deep). Thus, I spent 75% of the day not being able to hear out of my left ear. As some of you know, I have an ear thing, and this whole ordeal really freaked me out. You see, I once saw this episode of "Night Gallery" where the guy sticks an earwig in the other guy's ear, and then the doctor says, "The good news is we got the earwig but the bad news is it was a female, and...." Sorry, I have an ear thing. [<------- I will worship you forever if you can spot the reference. ;)]

Otherwise, I had a good weekend. Went out Saturday night to dinner and saw Just like Heaven. We were going to go to the 24 hour driving range afterwards and whack some balls, but by that point we were so tired that we just went home and collapsed. :P This weekend was my law school's annual raft race down the American River. I opted not to go this year, seeing as last year I was the only girl on my team, and I saw more of my teammates' bare asses that I care to remember. It's really hard to take those guys seriously in class after that... They try to make an educated argument and all I see is a huge ass staring back at me.

This should be a fun week. My birthday's on Wednesday. I'm feeling a little older, a little wiser for it. Probably go out to dinner on Wed. and Saturday. We were origionally going to drive to Reno Saturday night, get driven off the road by another deer, goof off there for a while, then drive back Sunday morning at sunrise - but that may have to be put off 'til later on, since I have a mess of work to do this weekend. I'll most likely spend a lot of it hybernating in front of my computer, researching Lexis & Westlaw for copyright issues involved in fan works, which just sucks. New Family Guy DVD thingy comes out on Tuesday, which looks to be HILLARIOUS! "I swear that's never happened to me before!" "What, the 8 seconds of sex or the 40 minutes of crying???" Hee hee!

I'm taking Sparky (my iPod) to the doctor (the Apple store) today. He stopped working last night and needs to be ressucitated stat! I can't imagine life without Sparky... It seems like just yesterday I got him. I can't lose him now, I can't. *sniff* I promised myself I wouldn't cry.

I really wish this class i'm sitting in now would just end already... I really have to go to the bathroom, and the professor talking about "joint ventures" for some reason makes me think of waterparks. It's not helping!

[edit: I keep forgetting to mention this. I know I've told some of you, there is a guy in this class (Bus. Assoc.) who looks exactly how I picture Glory Days Mr. Incredible to look, if he were a real person and not so characaturized & cartoony. It's freaking uncanny! Very tall, blonde, atheletic - not as muscular though. We've made eye contact several times (because I can't help but stare at him, shut up), but I always turn away and giggle like a schoolgirl. mark my words: I shall befriend him and post a picture of him here, so you can all see what I mean (and mock me, probably). Oh yes, I shall! God forbid he should ever read this...]

[edit 2: Apparently today is "talk like a pirate day" or something. So, avast ye mateys, haul the gangplank, and so forth.]

Is that from So I Married an Axe Murderer?

*claps* You got it! I think SIMAM is one of the most underrated movies ever... But then, it's a well known fact that I want to marry Mike Myers, so I might be a tad biased. ;)

That was a great movie! I only saw it last semester for the first time...but yeah, hilarious. And Mike Myers is pretty cute in it. :-D

And is it me, or can you see a lot of soon-to-be Austin Powers-esque comedy in there? :-)

Oh you can TOTALLY see his Austin Powers humor in there! Esp when he's playing his father, which is his Fat Bastard voice... I used to quote that movie to no end in high school. Classic, pure and simple! :)

Yeah, that's how it is dealing with most lawyers and law students. XD

RE: The Q-tip

ROTFL! I would have paid serious money to see the look on your face when you saw the stick with no cotton end on it. I would have paid even more to watch you try to get it out all day. LMAO! You know, the other day, I happened to be in your neighborhood. I saw you, and kept yelling "Nicole! Hey Nicole!" But you kept walking on by. I thought you were just ignoring me, but now I see that you were simply deaf in one ear. Now I feel better.

It's not funny!! I felt like I had a plug in my ear all day and it was very tender afterwards! That goes to show you when you stick foreign objects inside your ear, do not go hard and deep. :(

Oh, man, I can't believe I missed you! You must have been walking on the west side... I sit on my couch facing north and all I could hear was the racket of Bobby & Whitney (the neighbors) fighting to the east. :( Next time you have to circle the perimeter!!

You have to stop when you feel resistance! Everybody knows that. :p I'm actually very curious about this. Was your equilibrium messed up? Did you walk around in circles all day? Did you constantly fall down for no reason?

Well, I could never expect to compete with the lungs of Bobby and Whitney, even if you were working with two operational ears. They've been so moody ever since they've been laying off the crack.

No, no, I didn't have any equilibrium nor balance problems... I did lose my depth perception for some reason, though. Or maybe I had that problem *before* and that's why I got the q-tip stuck in there in the first place... I can't remember. *scratches head*

Y'know, I want Bobby and Whitney to lay off the smack just like everyone else, but they're so boring and moody these days! They used to be good for a little entertainment, but not anymore...

I still think you need to move in with us me and K - our adventures would be legendary! "Come and knock on our door...."

I find it weird that your iPod is having issues while mine is a couple months older, and before the upgrade they did. Of course, my headphones died with no reason after a year. Hmmmm. I smell a conspiracy!

Yeah, I think it's a plan to get us addicted and then dish out more money for the iPod goodness. I blame the government. And the media.
